Glossary

Absement
A measure of “absence over time,” used metaphorically to describe how a point extended through time becomes a line. In this book, it illustrates how time can be understood as a dimensional integral of spatial forms.

Agni Yoga
A contemplative discipline emphasizing the Practice of the Presence, modernly adopted as mindfulness. It is the mode of consciousness through which the Eternal Now becomes accessible and meaning is apprehended directly through profound attentiveness, serene expectancy and perfect adaptability.

Analogical Knowing
A mode of certainty in which a truth is recognized across multiple scales or dimensions. It reflects the fractal nature of reality and the resonance between microcosm and macrocosm.

At‑one‑ment (Atonement)
The state in which the subject becomes harmonized with the Whole. In the Soul’s Certainty Principle, it corresponds to S = 1, the maximal scope of consciousness.

Causality (Transcendental)
Not a mechanical sequence of events but a harmonic relation among parts within a multidimensional Whole. Causation is apprehended through resonance, not deduction.

Conception
The mental faculty that organizes ideas, symbols, and abstractions. It is the domain of the rational mind and the architecture of thought.

Consciousness (Subject)
The primary reality, self‑existent and constitutive of all things. The subject of consciousness transcends the objects it illumines.

Contemplative Knowledge
Patanjali’s term for transcendental cognition: knowing through presence, identity, and the Eternal Now. It is the mode through which meaning is apprehended beyond space and time.

Dimensionality
The structural framework through which consciousness perceives reality. Higher dimensions reconcile contradictions that appear insoluble in lower ones.

Eternal Now
The timeless field in which past, present, and future coexist as a single integrated whole. Intuition operates from this vantage (Ouspenky’s Tertium Organum).

Hyper‑cube (Tesseract)
A four‑dimensional form whose three‑dimensional projections appear fragmented or contradictory. Used as a metaphor for higher‑dimensional truth.

Identity (Knowledge Through)
Merrell‑Wolff’s “introception”: knowing by being identical with the object of knowledge. The deepest form of cognition.

Integral (Intuitive Sense of Time)
The mathematical metaphor for intuition’s temporal synthesis. Intuition integrates infinitesimal experiences into coherent meaning, just as an integral reconstructs displacement from velocity.

Intuition
The synthetic, supra‑rational faculty that perceives coherence, meaning, and purpose. It integrates across time, space, and consciousness, revealing the unity behind appearances.

Love
The relational force that harmonizes parts within the Whole. In this book, love is the relativistic correction factor in the causal laws of motion.

Meaning
The essential quality or purpose of a thing. Meaning is not inferred but revealed through resonance between subject and object.

Monad
The spiritual essence beyond time and space. Bliss arises when the soul’s sacrifice is transfigured into identification with the Monad.

Music of the Spheres
The Pythagorean vision of cosmic harmony. A metaphor for transcendental causation and the right relations among all parts of the Whole.

Omnipresence
The intuitive apprehension of space as a unified field. It is the spatial counterpart of omniscience.

Omniscience
The intuitive apprehension of time as an integrated whole. It is the temporal counterpart of omnipresence.

Perception
The sensory mode of knowing, confined to three‑dimensional appearances.

Quality (Pirsig)
The fundamental force driving evolution toward greater coherence. Everything—matter, life, ideas—is an expression of Quality.

Randomness
A three‑dimensional interpretation of higher‑dimensional motion. Randomness arises when the observer cannot perceive the pattern that unites events.

Resonance
The vibrational alignment between subject and object. It is the mechanism of intuitive knowing.

Soul’s Certainty Principle
The reciprocal law \(U \cdot S = 1\), where uncertainty decreases as the scope of consciousness increases. The constant is unity.

Symbol
A higher‑dimensional form perceived through a lower‑dimensional lens. Symbols reveal meaning when interpreted intuitively.

Time (Dimensional)
A spatial dimension perceived as motion from a lower frame of reference. Time is the integral of becoming.

Wisdom
The light within the Light. Wisdom is knowledge integrated across time, revealing the general patterns and cycles of becoming.
